HIST 441 History of Mexico Since 1821
This senior-level course is an overview of Mexican history since independence. The course is roughly divided into four chronological periods: 1) early Republic and the Road to Liberalism 2) Porfiriato & the Mexican Revolution 3) Post Revolutionary Mexico 4) Contemporary issues related to Mexico’s Northern Border with the United States. The history of Modern Mexico will be taught from an interdisciplinary and Mexico-U.S. border-focused perspective.
CVEN 455 Urban Stormwater Management
This course discusses the application of hydrologic and hydraulic concepts to the analysis and design of stormwater drainage systems in urban areas. After taking this route, the students will be able to solve the most frequent storm water drainage problems found in urban areas. Students will also gain valuable interdisciplinary skills, and learn about different cultural communities by participating in three-day field trip to the border region in south Texas.
